Alright so when herblore first came out? you could use overload in PVP.... then you couldn't... wait could you? no you can't.

Rescent disaster:

Jagex updated overloads, So apon death you lose any initial stat boost which the overloads gave you.

So, what exactly are overloads?

From what i can see the fact you kept the stat boost when you died was the main selling point of the potion.

I personally have lost interest completely in runescape, and the only things that i find fun in the game are safe minigames.

such as;

Castle wars;
Clan wars; <-- This mainly.
Soul wars;
Duel arena;
Player owned house events;

Generaly, you will tend to die a lot playing these mini-games, and having the stat boost remain, even after death was incredibly useful.
This is exactly why i spent a considerable amount of my time and my runescape money, which i yet spent... even more of my time getting...To get overloads...

So why would they of done this?

It was a "Bug",

GOOD ONE!.. No, really. Good one.
How long have overloads been out for? 6 months?
So it's taken Jagex 6 months to fix a glitch this obvious?
You are actually expecting players to believe that you actually thought, something this well tuned... was a bug? Really?.............
I mean you... nvm, I need say no more.

The reason they removed this feature of the potion is because large amounts of players were constantly complaining about the over-powered abilities, such as soul split and overloads which have rescently become aspects of the game.
^
Before i pass comment on that i have to say this first;
Only 2 things in this game take skill, merchanting and PvP.
The rest is just clicking a mouse on a computer screen.

And if there ARE players, which are not -GOOD ENOUGH- to aquire overloads/soul split, Then they are...

BAD AT THE GAME.

This is essentially the same as me complaining that level 138's can kill me, wait no, it's exactly the same.

Ruin aspects of the game as you wish, but you will never lie to me.

"And if there ARE players, which are not -GOOD ENOUGH- to aquire overloads/soul split, Then they are...

BAD AT THE GAME."

Dude,
You could have left this sentance out. You are ranting to JaGex, you have no right to say people who don't aquire overloads/soul split fail at the game. Dude think about what you say.

I play this game for fun. And I hate skilling, my main thing I do in this game is boss, slayer...So because I dont 'no life' like you I am guessing.. You have seven 99's and blue phat..it's lookin like to me you are a no-lifer, so you have the time to get all that crap.

I honestly dont give a **** about +125 stats... I'm fine with my 118, no way in hell would i spend 150m to get 7 points more... and soul split? so you get hp back, there is a lot of things that do that...

I dont know why you are even ranting, if you were drunk/high or wtv irl and died, guess what! YOU WOULDNT KEEP THAT. JaGex's point of doing this was so it would be more realistic. I know its a game, but it needs to make since. If you dont like em, dont use em.

You should be happy JaGex came out with that stuff for you to use on boss, and I think its sad that you only like safe minigames...

Anyway, theres my rant to you.

(:
~Five Ash

EDIT: If you have overloads and sould split you SHOULD'NT BE DIEING in castlewars..The average level in castle wars is like 100...To die there is just sad, im 132, and when i do it I die maybe once per game, IDK about you but I don't consider that "a lot."

Good point, but i am not calling you personally bad at the game,

My argument is with the people who complain about overload and soul split to get them "nerfed" were you one of those people? i don't know.

But it seems to me just so... ridiculous that players which arn't fortunate enough to have these abilities, or havn't spent enough of their time to aquire them... to complain about not having them!, to get them taken away from players like me?! who have earn't them!

It's just so insanely unfair.
I thought the whole point of overloads was for them to last 5 minutes no matter what. It's like jagex is going down my list of things that make me want to quit and just checking them off one by one and making dumb updates.
I see your point,
Please make it so it doesn't look like those who dont have it arnt good enough.

No, I wasnt one of the players who complained, I dont really care about what happens to the prayer or pots...

My Prayer level is 80.
My Herblore level is 70.

I have no intentions of getting those up until I'm uber rich.

And I'm not a pvper. <imgclass="sm2"alt=":P"title=":P"src="../../../site/img/blk.gif"/>

If anyone, in my opinion is so incapable of getting the cash for 99 pray and herblore, that they have to complain and whine on forums so that they don't have to....

They are bad the game.

I no lifed for 99 herblore, your right. I nerded-out for overloads, and you might not have them... FAIR ENOUGH, that doesn't make you a bad player, agreed.

But if you take 1 step up, and start to complain about them, because you physically are not able to get them - I should not have to suffer.
Yeah,

I could get them if I wanted, I just dont care too lol.

Not too much to say lol, Itwould require so much work for so little reward imo.
the main selling point of overload is that it negates the effect of sara brew making it an excellent potion for boss fighting. if you wanna use it in minigames then good for you. i think thats totally wasteful but whatever floats your boat. main selling point is anti-brew though. i consider overload a useless potion unless used in combo with brews(which i presume you castle/clan war people use)

anyway all that aside, yes duh it was an oversight/bug whatever you wanna call it and it was rightly fixed, yes it took them a long time to notice this and i would say thats mostly because its a) not well known and b) relatively minor priority. the only reason people like you are mad is because you got use to things being the way they were, you dont really care if the power to last even after death was intentional or not, you only want the ability to stay for selfish reasons, not for the betterment of the game(im sorry but its the truth) its not really fair to those who either cant use overloads if you are able to take advantage of this bug. yes it took a long time to find the bug but im gonna forgive jagex for this oversight since it wasnt too well known and wasnt a particularly gamebreaking ability, it just let you do more damage for cheaper in minigames, but a bug is a bug and needs to be fixed when spotted, thats one mark of a good gaming company. a lesser company would have just ignored this bug and not admitted their error.

when you first noticed overloads surpass death, did you honestly think that was intentional, i mean really?
thanks for the "lols" you made my day <imgclass="sm2"alt=":P"title=":P"src="../../../site/img/blk.gif"/>

p.s. just because you have more free time then others doesnt mean you are "greater" and not every1 can play 4-6 hours a day, and its just a game get over it... life isnt fair deal with it.

p.s.s. have fun raging
I am sorry but overloads being changed is a good thing. How is an effect of an item still applying after you have died not a glitch.

It does not matter if it took them 6 months or 10 years to fix this glitch it is still a glitch.

BTW I have never complained about overloads before simply because i never knew they kept working after you died that is just stupid.
