To any JMod out there:
Can you please post an official sticky in regards to the free trial? You have a bunch of confused and frustrated players. For years you have told us that any communication made by Jagex would come via the Msg Center in the game. Many players are skeptical about receiving/answering an 3mail from Jagex outside of the game resulting in rumors and misinformation being circulated.

If a PMod feels this isn't recent enough to be in this forum, please move it to a more appropriate one as opposed to simply locking or hiding it. I'm just trying to stop more rumors from being started and get some official answers.

this is a "recent" issue and i think u should take this directly to jagex for 1 small fact

THEY WILL TRY TO GET COPYS OF THESE 3mailS AND MAKE COPYS AND PUT KEYLOAGGERS AND SUCH IN THEM AND STEAL ACCTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a reason Jagex didn't want to make this free trial publicly known to all players otherwise they would have had a news post about it.

Great point about the 3mail abuse by others! I had not thought about that.

When has Jagex ever kept a secret? It's impossible to use a marketing approach like this and think the community would not find out. Many people who received the 3mail have mains. I can understand them not wanting to make it public just to avoid extra rants but keeping it under wraps does more damage then good in my opinion.


I also am not looking for a reason as to why the are doing this promotion. I want them to clear the air on the rumors that it is a scam. Read some of the other threads. There is a large amount of misinformation mainly regarding the 3mail outside of the Msg Center as well as the credit card requirement.

Keep it quiet? It is on the login page in big bright splashy colors everytime I login!

I agree that once that post is out there, there will be hackers looking to send it on to others with keyloggers and other malicious scripts. I choose not to give them my ***** addy.

Jagex has made a number of really bad decisions recently. I can only guess all of this is due to them losing money.

Perhaps that is because you are not a member. I actually had to go hunting for the information through google which added to my confusion. I can verify that it is real but the information is limited at best.

When I log to RS I am taking directly to the homepage. I know previously I had to click through what looked like an advert page but am able to bypass it now. Maybe its a cookie thing.

Won't happen, we'd get even more f2p noobs in teh gaem.
