Why is it that my protection prayers do not always work against another player?

The protection prayers will always work against monsters. These prayers do work against other players, but it will reduce the damage you receive by 40%.

My Protect Item prayer didn't work. Why is this?

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Remember that your 'Protect Item' relies on your Prayer points. There are instances where a player's Prayer points will run out before they die, rendering the prayer useless. Also, the Protect Item prayer will not work on a PvP or Bounty Worlds.

Why can't I use any prayers in the Abyss?

Upon entering the Abyss, it will drain your Prayer stat to zero.

Is it possible to regain Prayer points within the Abyss?

Yes, you can regain Prayer points as normal. Simply drink a Prayer potion and you will be able to use your prayers again.

Does the dragon scimitar special attack affect the Protect Item prayer?

The dragon scimitar special attack only affects the Protect From prayers (Magic, Ranged, Melee and Summoning). It has no effect on the Protect Item prayer.

If I use the dragon scimitar special attack to stop a player's protect prayers for five seconds, does the damage on the special hit count with the player having prayers on or off?

The damage and chance to hit is calculated with the opponent using the Protect From prayer.

When I recharge my Prayer points at an altar or with a potion, my Prayer level is the maximum number of Prayer points I can have. How can I get extra Prayer points?

Here are a few places where this is possible:

The monks' altar upstairs in the Monastery (talk to Abbot Langley).
The Nature Shrine in Mort Myre (after the Nature Spirit quest).
Oo'glog sulphur spring (after As a First Resort).
The altar beneath the Digsite (after Temple at Senntisten).

The first two will give you two extra Prayer points. Oo'glog's sulphur spring boosts your Prayer points by 10%. Senntisten Altar boosts your Prayer points by 15%. Also, don't forget that a Prayer skillcape can boost your Prayer level to 100.

What's the best way to increase my Prayer level?

Get in the habit of burying every bone you see, regardless of how little experience you will get. It all adds up!

How does the Prayer statistic work?

Next to your minimap, you will see the Prayer stat. If you are using prayers to fight monsters or players, then it will drain through use. Some items of armour or other equipment can boost this (look at your equipment bonuses by clicking the 'Show Equipment Stats' button in your worn inventory).
