Transportation - By Air
Gnome Gliders (Members Only)
After completing The Grand Tree quest you are free to use Gnome Airlines to access different areas quickly.
To use a glider, simply talk to the gnome pilot near a glider and he will display a map for you to choose your destination.
Please remember that you may fly to any of the following locations from the Tree Gnome Stronghold, but you must fly back to this location before pursuing another Gnome Airlines journey.
- Ta Quir Priw - The Grand Tree
- Lemantolly Undri - Western Feldip Hills (requires One Small Favour Quest)
- Gandius - Just South of the Ship Yard on eastern Karamja
- Kar-Hewo - Al Kharid
- Lemanto Andra - West of the Digsite
- Sindarpos - White Wolf Mountain
Please note that you can fly to the Digsite but cannot fly back due to a crash landing.
Military Gliders (Members Only)
After beginning Monkey Madness you are able to talk to Daero at Blurberry's Bar in the Grand Tree. He will be able to take you to the secret military glider hangar.
From there you will need to speak to Waydar who will fly you to Lumdo on Crash Island who, in turn, will take you to Ape Atoll in his boat. You will need to do this in reverse to get back.
Magic Carpets (Members Only)
Ali Morrisane has started a network of magic carpet travel routes through the desert. There are now rug merchants in seven locations throughout the world, as shown in the table below.
To go on a carpet ride, you will need to speak to a rug merchant, marked by the transportation key on your minimap, and then simply choose your required destination.
Before being able to fly you'll have to pay the merchant 200 coins. You will then begin your enjoyable trip to your desired destination, providing that you have met all the requirements.

Please remember that venturing into the desert can be hazardous without the right equipment. You should always bring desert robes and boots, and a few full waterskins. These can all be bought in Al Kharid. For more information, please see the Terrain Survival Guide.

Eagle Transport (Members Only)
To unlock eagle transport you must have completed Eagles' Peak.
The giant eagles that live in eyries around RuneScape are not the tamest of creatures; on the other hand, they are also not aggressive. Adventurers who have learnt something of the eagles' ways will know that they can lasso the eagles to fly about the world.
To travel using the giant eagles, simply use a rope on one of the eagles in the eyries. The startled eagle will then hoist you into the air on the end of the rope and carry you to your destination.
There are four types of giant eagle, and each has a 'home' eyrie at the different Hunter areas. The woodland eagles' home is the eyrie at Eagles' Peak; the polar eagle makes its home in the Rellekka Hunter area; the desert eagle prefers the dry climate of the Nardah Hunter area; the jungle eagle is most commonly found in the Feldip Hunter area.
In order to fully utilise the giant eagles, you will need to make sure that you can enter and exit the eyries.
- Feldip eyrie
To enter the Feldip eyrie you will need to help a small vine grow up to the eyrie's entrance. To do this, use a garden cane (available from Fenkenstrain's Castle), a thatching spar (from Tai Bwo Wannai Clean Up) or a teasing stick on the young vine at the base. Leave this to grow for a while, and it will eventually be strong enough and tall enough to climb up.
- Rellekka eyrie
To enter and exit the Rellekka Hunter area eyrie you must be able to negotiate some slippery, icy handholds. You must have an Agility level of 35 or more.
- Nardah eyrie
The Nardah Hunter area eyrie is blocked from the desert by a large boulder. To move it out of the way you must enter from the desert and have a Strength level of 45 or more. Once you have pushed it into the cave you will be able to come and go as you please using the giant eagles.
- Karamja eyrie
To use the Karamja eyrie, you must have reached a certain stage in Back to my Roots, as the eyrie is located at the top of the dense and dangerous Jade Vine maze.
The eyrie at Eagles' Peak is the only one that contains one of each type of eagle, so you can travel to any of the other three eyries from there. The Feldip, Rellekka and Nardah Hunter area eyries will only transport you back to Eagles' Peak.
