1. I can see the main game screen, but it just says "Loading...please wait". What should I do?
If you are running a PC with 1GB+ of RAM, a memory conflict can occur. This problem is caused by Java not giving the FunOrb game enough memory to work with and can be solved using the following steps.
Note: Please only perform these steps if you are technically competent or a responsible adult. Jagex takes no responsibility for any data lost as a consequence of using this fix.
- Open your Windows Control Panel
- Open the Java Control Panel
- Select the Java tab
- In the "Java applet runtime settings" section choose "View..." (not the application settings but applet)
Your JRE version should be listed there. In the box marked run-time parameters, you can add something like:
-Xmx256M
Include the minus sign before it. This should increase the maximum available memory to Java to 256MB.
Do not set this number to anything more than half of your maximum RAM otherwise Windows could have problems running.
As FunOrb games are designed to be run on Windows using the Internet Explorer browser software, we can only offer support relating to those products. If you are using a different operating system or browser then you will have to consult the manual for that software to find the equivalent procedures.
If you continue to have difficulties then please contact the Customer Support Team again for further assistance. Please remember to include any changes that have occurred to the game's performance after following the above actions, as well as your computer specifications (CPU speed, Internet connection speed, RAM and free hard drive space).
2. I cannot load a FunOrb game. Even the title screen does not load! What should I do?
Please work through the range of options below, in the order given, to solve your technical problem. If the first option doesn't solve your problem then please see the option beneath.
- Try connecting to a different server. You find the game's server list in the 'More Info' page, just above the 'Description' button. If one of our servers is experiencing technical issues then this will solve the problem for you until we get it fixed.
- Your browser may be caching an old version of the game - try clearing your web-cache. To do this in Internet-Explorer, from the options bar select Tools > Internet Options > Delete your temporary Internet files
- In the 'Games' drop down menu on the FunOrb website is a link to 'Java Options. Here you will see a scroll with a drop down menu - Click on the drop down menu on this scroll and select Signed Applet using SUN Java and then proceed to load the game as normal. This will often fix the problem.
- Ensure that you have accepted the pop-up security warning that appears a few seconds after choosing your game server. If this pop-up does not appear try rebooting your machine and make sure you click 'Yes' when asked if you want to trust the FunOrb applet.
- In the 'Games' drop down menu on the FunOrb website is a link to 'Java Options'. Here you will see a scroll with a drop down menu - Click on the drop down menu on this scroll and select Unsigned Applet using default Java and then proceed to load the game as normal. This will often fix the problem if you are playing from a school machine or Internet-cafe where you have limited access to the computer.
- Download Mozilla Firefox from www.mozilla.org and try using that to play FunOrb games instead of Internet Explorer.
- Our servers may be temporarily offline for maintenance or an update. Try waiting an hour and then trying again.
- Make sure your computer is sufficiently powerful to play the game in question. Each FunOrb game has its own individual minimum specification, which can be found on each game's 'More Info' page. If your machine is very close to the said specification, make sure you close all unnecessary programs before running it.

3. The games keep crashing before they even load. What should I do?
If you are attempting to play FunOrb games on a computer running Windows Vista and Internet Explorer, it may be that Windows is set to run in 'Protected Mode'. This mode does not allow FunOrb games to cache locally, therefore they crash. To solve this issue, take the following steps:
- In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites - Uncheck the box titled 'Require server verification for all sites (https:) for all sites in this zone' - Type '*.funorb.com' (without the quotes) into the 'Add this website to the zone' input pane, then click 'Add'.
Alternatively, download the Mozilla web-browser from www.mozilla.org and try using that to play FunOrb games instead of Internet Explorer.

4. The website is loading very slowly, what should I do?
Our website sometimes loads slowly after an update, as everyone tries to download the latest games at the same time. Leave it a short while and try reloading the website.
