Something to mage...?

Recently I purchased a tome of frost thanks to the Dungeons of Daemonheim and I was wondering if there are any monsters that are very good to use magic on that would pay for the blood runes I'll be using for water wave? Having a safe spot would be 1000% better than having to be a mage tank.

*please note I can't use the offhand (shield) slot due to the tome of frost*

Keeping this thread alive as I want more things to mage :)

try the blue dragon under heroes guild, it might just pay for the runes. there is a safespot on the inside of the cage, just equip the antifire shield first, then get t the spot, and switch to the tome. (not sure if this will work, but try it out anyways)

another place that comes to mind is the tzhaar city, you an trap the kets behind a rock, once again, not sure if these will always pay for the runes though.

Blue dragons would be a good idea but dragons are resistant to magic attacks so that might be a problem, although I will still probably try them out. But the tzhaar city was what I was doing when I posted this thread and a lack of any good drops didn't motivate me to continue onward. So at the moment I'm enjoying fire giants, although 0 rune drops so far isn't persuading me to stay there much longer. :P

--EDIT-- Just tried blue dragons and I can easily kill them with magic, so I'll be sticking with them for quite some time now. Many thanks. :)

no problem ;) good luck on your training, (good way to bank and get back is to bring home teles with you, and have your house there in taverly, and bank at castle wars with a ring of dueling, might also want to work on getting that arcane stream necklace, should help a bit too ^_^)

Yeah, the stream necklace is next on my list, but another 300k dungeoneering xp doesn't sound very appealing at the moment. :)

Iron dragons can be very good for magic training as well.
Iron dragons weakness is magic (due to mental skin), they drop dragon bones and have some very valuable drops such as Dragon Platelegs and Draconic Visages!

EDIT: You can't use tome at Iron dragons because your shield slot requires anti-dragonfire shield/ Dragonfire Shield. Sorry! :(
