The fancy dress store

Try the frog costume!
The fancy dress shop in south-east Varrock is the necessary stop for making your furs into animal-skin outfits and camouflage gear. The slightly eccentric shop owner will offer to make these items for you at a cost, if you have the required number of furs in your inventory of course.

Bird Snare Rewards

The feathery rewards from trapping birds may not look substantial, but the feathers of the tropical wagtail will enable you to fish for the elusive rainbow fish, at any fly-fishing spot. The feathers can also be used when Fletching.

All of these fantastic rewards neglect to mention the raw bird meat, which can be spit-roasted on an iron spit.

Deadfall rewards

The kebbit rewards that you get from deadfalling have a variety of uses, all of which can help train your other skills.

The wild kebbit provides kebbit claws which can be used, with level 32 Crafting, to make spiked vambraces. These give a slight bonus to your Strength, but can only be added to leather and dragonhide vambraces.

The barbtailed kebbit will provide a barbtailed harpoon which can be wielded, meaning that fishers can free up one more inventory space for their harpooned catches!

The prickly kebbit provides spikes to be made into kebbit bolts for use with the Hunters' crossbow (see top). These bolts cannot be poisoned or enchanted, but are invaluable as the only ammunition for the Hunters' crossbow.

The sabretooth kebbit provides kebbit teeth, which can be crushed using a pestle and mortar to make kebbit teeth dust, which in turn can be mixed with avantoe to make a Hunters' potion.

Box Trap Rewards

The chinchompas, once caught, can both be used as one-use Ranged weapons, when equipped.

Name Required Level Ranged Attack Bonus

The 'fuses' of these explosive creatures can be changed from short to medium to long. Longer fuses will have more chance of hitting at long distances, medium at medium distances and short at short distance!

The ferret, lithe and vicious, is an ideal Hunter aid for snaring rabbits. It is best to use the ferret on a rabbit hole with a rabbit snare laid in anticipation.

Pawya meat can be used to trap grenwalls. Aside from the hefty experience earned by catching these wary creatures, the spikes that grenwalls drop can be used with feathers to make headless arrows. Pawya are also known to occasionally drop papaya seeds, and grenwalls sometimes drop a variety of herbs or pawya meat.

Rabbit Snare Rewards

The rabbit, aside from leaving you with bones and raw rabbit meat, will leave behind a lucky rabbit's foot. This small and innocuous item can be strung, with level 37 Crafting and a ball of wool, to make a rabbit-foot necklace - an invaluable tool for Woodcutting masters. This reward will greatly increase your chance of receiving a bird's nest when Woodcutting.

Net Trapping Rewards

The lizards and salamanders caught via net trapping can all be wielded as two-handed Ranged weapons, fueled by salamander or swamp tar mixed with various herbs. The Ranged levels and required herbs can all be found on the Ranged - Alternative Weapons page.

Tracking Creature Rewards

The fur of trackable kebbits can be made into various camouflaged clothing items, which will in turn help you hunt at a higher level in those areas that match the camouflage. Camo-tops and camo-legs can be made by visiting the fancy-dress shop owner in Varrock, who will gladly create them for a price. When worn, they will help you blend into the scenery a little more, increasing your chances of catching creatures with 'place and wait' traps. A full set of that camo-gear will increase your chances even further!

Butterfly Netting Rewards

Caught butterflies may seem to have no immediate use, but they really come into their own when used in multi-way combat areas. These fragile but magical creatures can be released on another player in these areas, and only these areas (they cannot be used on other players fighting within single-way combat areas, for example), giving positive effects to that target player.

A butterfly can also be released in any area if you wish to use the jar for another butterfly.

Falconry Rewards

The lightweight fur of the falcon's targets enable them to recover energy quickly, and the same goes for you when you make the spotted kebbit and dashing kebbit into useful items. The dark kebbit's fur can also be made into lightweight gloves for the purposes of pickpocketing! The fancy-dress store owner in Varrock (see 'Tracking' above for a map of his position) can make you these items for a price.

* Gloves of silence are damaged when you are caught pickpocketing, but they can be repaired. To check the state of your gloves, right-click on them and select 'Inspect'. If you'd like to fix them up a bit, use some more dark kebbit fur on them while you have a needle, thread and a knife in your inventory. This will restore them fully, although you must have a Crafting level of 64 to repair gloves of silence.

Pitfall Trap Rewards

The fur gleaned from pitfall creatures can come in one of two forms: tatty or perfect. Both can be made into trousers and tops at the fancy-dress store in Varrock for a price, but perfect fur can additionally be made into headdresses. The tatty and perfect fur can also be sold to the fur traders of Rellekka and Ardougne, although the tatty fur will get a lower price (see Hunter - Extra Features). Once made, these clothes will increase your chances of catching creatures using Hunter in their respective areas: larupia gear for the jungle and woodland, horned graahk gear for the desert, and sabretooth kyatt gear for the polar areas. A full set will increase your chances even further!
