Here are my tips for Melee-ing Nomad:

I just defeated Nomad today using a pure melee method. A few things that help me:
1) Watch a few videos on how others have killed Nomad with similar or lower levels then yourself.
2) Learn where your favorite 'safe spot' is for the 750 attack and his clones.
3) Don't attack his clones, use this time to pot up and take a few deep breaths.
4) Be patient and have fun.

STATS:
Att: 91
Str: 99
Def: 90
HP: 97
Mage: 99
Range: 87
Pray: 80
Summ: 90

Bandos GS for weapon used SPEC every chance that I got!
D-hide armor
Neitz Helm
Barrows Gloves
Dragon Boots
Trimmed Cape
Fury
(no ring)
11 Super Restore and 33 Sara Brews.
Titian pouch with scrolls
War Tort at the start switched to Moss Titian (w/ srolls) in the later part of the fight, because I ran out of Sara Brew once when he was Berserking :(.

My melee tactic was fairly straight forward:

I would attack Nomad before the landmines;
Run to pillar as the landmines are dropped;
Continue attacking during landmines at pillar;
Hide behind pillar (to avoid his 750 attack);
Attack right after his 750 attack;
Hide behind pillar (to avoid clones);
Attack right after his clones disappeared.
Until the LP -1 Attack.
Pot up (3 sips Sara 1 Super Restore) after the LP -1 attack.
Repeat.

Then of course melee throughout the Berserker stage.

One other thing that I found helpful was normal prayers using Piety all the time and protect melee at the end. I have 80 prayer and tried leech def. I did not think it was as helpful as Peity.

I hope this helps anyone that is considering melee-ing Nomad.

very nice! i personally used the void ranger and hide behind pillars strategic but hey to each his own!

and for the record it took me 45 tries to kill nomad... mainly because most of them were just learning how to react and what to do when... >.>

I've gotta agree with Wulf.

I think the amount of skills needed to successfully defeat Nomad is less if you range, but heck if mele is your alley, rock it!

It is just my two cents on killing Nomad, most guides I have seen have been range based. I just waunted to provide some insight that Nomad can be killed with melee too. Just in case someone has low range but good melee stats :).
