Clan Chat = "Discuss Item"

Hi all,


Well us commonfolk that generally hang/help out in this forum can usually be found together in game as well. Most of my good in-game friends are people who participate in the item discussion forum a lot. That way, the humor and fun of this community in general was somewhat "transferred" to my gaming experience as well. That got me thinking.

HOW IT WORKS:

After chatting with several of the Item Discussion Folk we've all decided to collaboratively join a clan chat and hang out there. Anyone is welcome to join, and if you have a question you can head to the chat for a quick, reliable, in-game answer. The chat is also a place to hang out, talk about whatever, make new friends, the whole deal.

RANKS:

Basically, here's how the ranks work:

I selected several members of the item discussion forum who I thought already demonstrated their exemplary knowledge of the game. These individuals have gotten a "headstart" of sorts, and have been selected to be generals/captains.

However, everyone else will start as a smiley face. Only 3 ranks exist:

Bronze Star - Helpful People, Established Members
Silver Star - Mature People, Frequent Visitors of CC (Kick)
Gold Star - CC Heads.
Key - ME

Don't worry about ranks too much - they aren't very important.

That's basically all there is to it. Pop by if you have a question, are bored, or just want a cool place to chill.

CLAN EVENTS:

Occasionally we'll all head off to clan wars or stealing creation for some fun. These are completely optional, and extremely random. I'll post here if we have one coming up soon though.

CLAN RULES:

It has been felt for a while now that the current behavior in the Discuss Item clan chat directly contradicts its original purposes as a help clan chat.

For this reason, we have implemented a set of rules which are to be strictly adhered to.

Violations will result in:
1. Warning - This is to be obeyed. Ignoring this warning or arguing with the issuer will result in #2.
2. Kick - If you are kicked, spend your time reflecting on what you did wrong and how you could have averted this situation. This is the best solution to prevent #3.
3. Permanent ban from the clan chat.



Rules:
1. Respect all players in the clan chat, regardless of reputation.
2. Relevant questions to the CC take precedence over any irrelevant discussions.
3. Answer all questions to the best of your ability. If you cannot answer a question, simply reply with, "I don't know."
4. Do not give answers that are not helpful to the person asking (i.e., not spamming or trolling).
5. Do not complain excessively.
6. Do not deceive other players in the CC for your gain.
7. Keep the use of memes limited.

As long as you are helpful and keep a good attitude, there will not be a problem.

Hi oliver - you're welcome to join the chat. You'd be a great addition to the helping team.

I truly hope this goes somewhere.

Just think it's a great idea to get answers even faster than forums.

Instead of waiting for someone to chance upon your thread, you can ask it directly in a cc for convenience. If it does get kick-started, you're right - it'll be great.

I think this cc is a great idea, I'll hang around sometimes.
