High Level Content

If you have any ideas on how to improve the game for the high level players, we want to hear them. It maybe an idea for a new quest, new weapons or a badder boss. It might be a small tweak to the interface or a piece of equipment.

If you have an idea which will require any skills to be over level 70, make a thread in this forum and then post about it here. If you can put the QFC and a quick description of your idea, that would be great!

Please use the following template:

Why do you think it is high level?

Let's hear some great ones! :)

Idea - Players can smith items of higher quality than Rune

Summary - By requiring players to have multiple skills at 80+ Jagex can introduce high level player made armor and weapons that won't unbalance the game.

Assume that Mithril is level 20, Adamant is level 30, Rune is level 40, Granite is level 50, Obsidian/Dragon is level 60, and Barrows/Crystal is level 70. Players with Smithing 80 to 99 can make Level 40 items. With Smithing and one other skill (like Crafting) at 80 to 99 skill level, then a player can make Level 50 items. With four skills 80 to 99 she can make level 60 items. With eight skill she can make level 70.

At this point, Jagex can open up the smithing skill to be maxed at 120. With smithing 100 to 119 players can make Level 80 items. With two skills 100 to 119 players can make Level 90 items. Etc, etc.

Jagex can further limit the impact on game economy by introducing factors to raises tedium or cost. Example would be having to mine or fish or burn items that have a 1 in 100 (or higher) chance of producing a usable item to make higher level armor. In addition, these intermediate materials can be made untradeable to ensure only one player does it.

Combo-skill concept is made to be applied to smithing and works well into Runescape concept. Make it happen Jagex.

**** Skill Boosting Prayers ****

Summary: New prayer book that offers boosts to various luck based skills such as woodcutting, agility and hunting.

Why high level: At 70+ prayer, players have access to prayers that boost certain skills 30%. This offers enormous benefits to praying while high level skilling as less failures equals more experience.

Balance issues: Greater boosting prayers mean more prayer points used. When on a "Skill Prayer Book" the player's prayer is not used for their combat level (encourages Pures and Skillers to use this update). Brings prayer in line with summoning for offering Combat and Non-combat skilling benefits.

Thread title: //\\ The Abyssal Queen //\\

Thread QFC: 188-189-469-60878677

Description: A high level boss which requires a high slayer level to kill.

Why do you think it is high level?

Level requirements and the high quality of the prospective drops.

Spirit Bow and Crystal Axe

A player with 90's in a number of skills can utilize his Spirit tree to create a Spirit Bow (70 range to wield).

Requires 90 Woodcutting, Farming, Crafting, Fletching plus a number of quests to get the ability to make this bow as all steps in the process are untradeable items. Further, those with 90 Prayer can also create Spirit arrows to create spirit arrows.

This thread also introduces the Crystal Axe that is used to cut down the spirit tree. It requires 70 Atk/50 Agility to wield in addition to 70 WC to use on trees. It degrades over time as it misses attacks or fails to get a log (sort of missing an attack on a tree).

These are very balanced with existing game mechanics and the economy. Making a spirit bow requires the destruction of a spirit tree so can only be made once every 5 days. In addition, logs to make spirit arrows can only be obtained once every hour. The crystal axe follows the mechanics of other crystal items and fits well even in combat.

Thread title: Elite Smithing Content
Thread QFC: 188-189-198-60831644

Description: Players with high smithing levels (87-99) will be able to make high-quality armor and weapons.

Why do you think it is high level? These items will provide the same sort of utility for smithing that extreme potions provide for herblore as untradeable, high-end items.

Thread title: Model upgrade and raise reqs

Thread QFC: 188-189-775-61042079

Description: Raise requirements for some items to have an 80-90 level requirement, e.g dragon pickaxe

Why do you think it is high level?
Because you'd need a high level to use them, and it would encourage training a skill after you reach 70-80 and the rewards dry up as well as make players feel some satisfaction that they aren't playing with a noob toy and have actually earned it.

Thread title: Upgraded Inferno Adze

Thread QFC: 188-189-480-61029249

Description: A new inferno adze upgrade, available as a dungeoneering reward, which mines at the rate of the dragon pickaxe and has a chance to smelt your ores for you.

Why do you think it is high level? Besides having to own the original inferno adze in the first place, you need 90 smithing and a boatload (maybe two) of dungeoneering tokens to get the upgrade. Regardless of the dungeoneering level requirement, players are likely to have 80+ before they can afford to buy it.
