Hi everybody,

As some people may know we have recently changed the Forum Specific Rules for the Rants Forum.

Obviously this has caused a lot of confusion as players are unsure what is/isn't allowed, or the reasons we have made such decisions.

This thread is to help clear up the situation and provide some insight into the changes.

First of all, the Rants Forum has *always* been about allowing players to make complaints about the game, forums, website, Jagex etc. Until 2007 or so, this was the case and then we removed the Rants Forum in favour of Game Feedback. In 2009 the Rants Forum was re-introduced and we allowed non-RS related Rants to be posted and the volume of moderating was limited so many players posted spam, or inappropriate topics.

Now, thanks to the Forum update we have decided to take Rants back to what it was originally for.

What IS Rants for now?

The Rants Forum is for non-constructive (or constructive) complaints about;

RuneScape Game Content
The RuneScape Official Forums
The RuneScape Website
Jagex

We still encourage players to vent their frustrations about the game, as the name "Rant" suggests. But as these are the RuneScape/Jagex Forums we want to make sure they are focused on things we can change.

Obviously, the Forum rules still apply here. So Spam, insulting or offensive language (directed at Jagex or otherwise) complaints about Moderator actions etc, are all not allowed.

If you wish to rant about non-RuneScape topics we suggest you find somewhere else to vent your frustrations. If you wish to *discuss* non-RS related topics then please use the Off Topic Forum.

Community Threads

We do not allow these threads in other feedback/game related forums and so we have decided not to allow these threads here.

Whilst the General and Off Topic Forums have chat threads, these forums are covering broad areas and are for the *whole* RuneScape Forum Community to join in with.

Some members of the Rants Community have moved their threads to the Clan Forums and set up Clan Chats for people to meet up and chat.
