This thread is about a recent update that jagex did without announcing it on the main page. A shield from castle wars called the faithful shield was recently changed from having a 1 defence requirement to wear it to a 40 defence requirement. This was after the shield had been out for 1.5 weeks.

A large number of pures and skillers having 1 defence had already spent the time to get this shield when it was updated without warning to 40 defence. This would not be a big deal if the shield did not cost so many tokens. At a cost of 200 tickets, it took me 80 hours to get the shield and 15 million gp in barrages.

Right now I have wasted over a week of no lifing to get a shield that I can no longer wear because of this silent update on the day that I got it. I made this thread because I think jagex should give us some sort of compensation for our time spent.

The reason why the shield was updated to 40 defence was because it had the same defence stats as a rune kite shield. The vast majority of pures and skillers only wanted the shield for its looks as it is the only wearable item in the game that makes use of the particle effects when worn. It is arguably the coolest looking equipment in the whole of runescape.

Please post comments below if you think this is a reasonable compromise for both sides. I think some sort of compensation for our lost time is only fair though, as this update was made 1.5 weeks after the release of the shield without any warning.

*side note* anyone who criticizes pures or skillers for not raising their defence will be considered spammers. The point of this thread is that they should not have done this 1.5 weeks after the item was already released.

You could have purchased another item in place of the shield. ie. halo or cape. If JaGeX had released the update on the forums.
