 Money Guide

Welcome to the Money Guide. This provides a comprehensive overview of money methods. Several of these methods go into great length to discuss details and to improve efficiency. If youre not going to read a lengthy guide such as this one, I would suggest that you go visit another thread because this one does take a while to read.

Through the creation of the money guide, it was essential to include other guides on:
 Investing
 Kingdom Management
 Master Boss Guide

This guide was created and updated by the help of various players nearly two years ago, and upon starting my DIYer account (His Reverie), I have no means to update the guide on my own. If you find that some methods are not accurate or discussed, make a post about it on the forums and include an explanation along with experience rates.

Several players have been very helpful towards the creation of the guide. Id like to thank Sharpshot519 (ITIyself), Grttn1, Gatorade 1993 (Bassine), and Wezall2002.

 Money Help Application
*Adventure Log should be turned on public. Fill this out and Grttn1 or other people will help out whenever possible.

Combat?
Current cash?
Any preference? (Skilling, Combat, Collecting)
Kingdom Management quests?
Notable skills:

If you need additional aid, the clan chat 'Cellerdoor' should be able to help you out.

 Daily Checklist
Battle staves
Pineapples
Seaweed
Buckets of Sand
Flax
Item Packing
Pure Essence
Profit: ~700k

The time it takes depends on the routes and teleports that are available for you to use. For some people who are extremely efficient, it can take ~14 minutes while it may take longer for others. When youre running through the stores for item packing, group the same stores in relative proximity together to avoid doubling back.

 Battlestaves
Requirements: 56-448k
Recommendations: Finish Varrock diaries

Theyre bought in Zaffs store located in Varrock. Zaff sells them for 7k each, while the price in the grand exchange is ~8-8.5k. The stock of battle staves available is directly exponential (not proportional ;)) to the number of Varrock achievement diaries you have completed.

Number of Staves = 4(2^n) with 'no armor' being equivalent to n = 1.

Number of Staves
_______________
08 = No Armor
16 = Varrock Armor 1
32 = Varrock Armor 2
64 = Varrock Armor 3

Profit = 8-64k

 Flax
Requirements: completion of the Seers diary
Recommendation: Finish all 3 levels of Seers diary

You can talk to Geoffrey whos located around the Seers Village flax fields for free flax each day. The amount you get depends on how far youve finished the diary.

Number of Flax
_______________
30 = Easy
60 = Medium
120= Hard

Profit: 2-10k

 Pineapples
Requirements: 80gp, completion of Easy Karamja Diary

Theyre bought from Arhein in Catherby. Hes located at the docks just south of the bank. He sells them for 2gp each and has a daily limit of 40. You can sell them to the GE or collect them to use as farm payments.

Dell Monti (east of Brimhaven house portal) gives 40 free noted pineapples daily.

Pineapple = 66 gp
Profit: 3.2k

 Seaweed
Requirements: 160 gp

Theyre bought from Arhein in Catherby. You can buy them at the same time you get your pineapples. He sells them for 2gp each and has a limit of 80.

Seaweed = 255 gp
Profit: 20.2k

 Sand
Requirements: completion of Hand in the Sand quest, speak with Bert daily

Hes located in Yanille a little south-east of the sandpit. If you speak with him every day, he will deliver 84 buckets of sand into your bank account. You have to speak with him to get the sand, its not automatically delivered to your bank. You could also talk to him using NPC contact (67 magic) in the Lunar spellbook.

Sand= 235gp
Profit: 19.7k

 Pure Essence
Requirements: Completion of Medium Ardougne Diary

Wizard Cromperty in East Ardougne gives 100 free noted pure essence after the medium diary. You can receive 150 if you completed hard.

Profit: 13-20k

 Item Packing
Requirements: ~450k

Item Packing can be done daily by purchasing item packs & stocks of certain items in a store. These items would them be sold in the GE for a profit.

If youd like to provide information on those cost

 Money Guide: Flipping

Flipping is the most profitable way to earn money from merchanting. If you understand the concept and can apply it successfully, you will have profit rates which exceed other methods of merchanting.

Flipping is a term which is defined as buying an item at a lower price to sell it for a higher price within the same update. Keep in mind that there is a 4 hour time period where you will be locked out of the market and kept from selling your items.

 Tips
1. The initial amount you need to begin must be around 25-30M. Any less than that does not generate decent profits.

2. Use the Grand Exchange Database to check records of the markets of the items.

3. Check the marketplace forums to get an idea of its current price margins. If this does not help you much, visit World 2 to get an update of the item.

4. If youre flipping a lesser known item, take the time to perform a 1x (or 100x test) depending on the limit on the item. Some people may buy 1 AGS to get a sense of the market on that day. Following the 1x test, you would be able to successfully gauge the offers in your GE slots to allow for maximum flipping.

 What to Flip

Godswords (GS): They have a great market because there is consistent demand from players who are trying it out for the first time, need one for GWD, want to show it off to their friends, etc. The only exception is ZGS. ZGS doesnt have great profit returns due to the fact that it is one of the least popular GS out of the whole. AGS and SGS have great profit margins, but do require that you have over 2B to perform 4 other flips at the same time.

 Dragon Claws (DClause): These are very popular due to PvPers buying and using them with intentions of owning other players in PvP worlds. They have great profit margins and when you are reverse flipping, you can be extremely generous with the profit margins. Most of the times, you can sell it for 60-150k below market which allows you to have substantial leverage in terms of profit margins.

 Bandos Tassets/Bandos Chest Plate(BT/BCP): This market is decent for flipping albeit the lower profit margins in comparison to dragon clause and godswords. Under normal conditions, you can expect returns ranging anywhere from 100-300k per item flipped depending on the market.

 Money Guide: Flipping

 Dragonfire Shield (DFS): Volatile market; it has a lot of potential, and if you have the upper hand, you can use it to your advantage. The profit margins vary, but as long as you do the 1x test, you should be fine.

 Abyssal Whip: This is an extremely good item to flip if youve set up your 5 other offers in the GE and have less than 50M or so leftover. Whips can give you profit ranging from 50k to 100k per whip. Under average conditions, 60-70k per whip is considered good profit. Reverse flipping works the best for whips given the fact that this market is colossal compared to other items such as AGS.

 Other: There may be other items out there that have great profit margins and can be flipped consistently; however, I have not included them into the guide to leave you with options to find and develop your own flipping styles. Items not explained but have nice returns on sporadic updates would be saradomin swords, dragon plates, DFH, furies. If youre just starting out, try lower leveled items such as barrows.

 Further Notes
- The limit on armor and weapons is 10 per 4 hours. Others may have a limit of 100 per 4 hours.
-After you have reached the cap, youre locked out for the next 4 hours.
-There is a limit on buying but not selling.
-The Grand Exchange updates daily but there is no set time.
- Be aware of the merchant clans that are going around its a pyramid scheme designed to let you lose money. The profits fall into the hands of those who advertise the investment and their profit is accounted for by the loss of their followers. This is a method used to con people into group clans. For those who have earned money, they were lucky.
-If you use solo-merchanting methods, you earn more than you would if you invested with a group AND the risks are nominal. 99% of the time, youll be successful with profit rates of 1-2% daily if you are flipping with over 1B.

If you are myopic when it comes to flipping, contact me through the guide or in-game if you need help. You might want to find a friend to assist you with flipping because if you do not understand what Ive posted so far, you will not understand much through further explanation. Or, you could take the time and read this extremely well-written guide with the QFC posted below.
