Grand Exchange Advertising
After last Christmas, I've been banned from taking part in secret Santa. :( I carefully chose a present and wrapped it in gold paper. I was so proud of it that I pinned a 15 foot tall poster outside of the Jagex office which read:
"Mod Emilee bought the one in the gold wrapping paper. It's a rubber duck."
Just like Secret Santa, the Grand Exchange is meant to be anonymous. You don't need to shout from the rooftops that you're selling an item on the Grand Exchange. There's no guarantee that it will be your specific rubber duck that a player buys, as there will probably be loads of them on there.
For this reason, you don't need to make threads for items that you're selling on the Grand Exchange. This will save space in the Marketplace Forums for those that prefer to personally hand over their goods.

Search Before You Post
Last week my mates were going treasure hunting. They had an old fashioned, fuddy-duddy map which was written in blood. I threw away the map and drew them a bunch of new ones with my crayons. They didn't find any treasure and they weren't very happy with me. :(
One of them asked me "Why'd you waste time drawing a new map when the original already led us to our goal?"
I learned a valuable lesson about efficiency which applies to the Marketplace Forums. Browse before you trade. Why make a new thread for buying sharks if there's already a thread where somebody is selling sharks?
This doesn't mean hijacking another player's "for sale" thread for selling your items. Nobody likes pirates. :P
How To Search For Threads
The "Search Threads" tool is located at the top of the main forum index within each forum.
Write in a keyword which relates to the item that you are interested in and the thread finder will come up with a list of threads which should help you find the item that you're after.
For Example:
You want to buy some sharks.
Type in "sharks" as your keyword and choose the relevant Marketplace forum. In this example, it would be the Food forum. Then click the "Search" button.

In the interest of fairness, each account should only ever be used by one person and not swapped or sold.
- My rival�s made a really nice thread for selling stuff. Can I sell my stuff on his thread instead of making my own? It�s too much effort! :O
Your rival might not take too kindly to that, so we�d advise creating your own trading thread. Thread hijacking just causes flaming.
- What�s trust trading?
Trust trading is a method for gaining experience and money between players. However, due to large possibilities of being a scam, these types of trades are no longer allowed on the RuneScape Forums.
