Guides Forum Guide

Hi there. Heres a brief guide to the Guides Forum. It was written by a member of the Girl Guides. :)

What is the Guides Forum for?

The Guides Forum is an amazing place for guides written by all the helpful players of RuneScape.

FAQ
  • Ive just completed my first quest! Can I post a guide for it in the Guides Forum?

Congratulations! :) Youve taken your first step on the path to becoming a hero. You must be feeling quite proud. If you wrote a step-by-step walkthrough, youd be taking away that sense of satisfaction from other would-be heroes. Wed prefer it if you didnt post quest walkthroughs in the Guides Forum.

  • Its too much effort to write my own guide! Cant I just nick another players Cabbage Collecting Guide and call it Cabbage Collecting Guide Guide 2? Its tag-line could be This time its personal.

As youve already found, it takes a lot of time and effort for players to write guides. It wouldnt be fair if you just plagiarized their work.

  • I wrote a guide to being as tough as Chuck Norris in real-life. Should I post it in the Guides Forum?

Firstly, nobody is as tough as Chuck Norris. Secondly, Chuck Norris isnt relevant to RuneScape (sorry Chuck). If a guides about a subject thats unrelated to RuneScape then you should use the Off Topic Forum.

  • Ive got some sweet ideas for new items. Should I suggest them in this forum?

If youve got ideas for brand new in-game items then you should use the relevant Suggestions Forum. Please read the Suggestions to Avoid sticky before you spend hours writing your thread.

Titles: A Guide

Hey there,

Guides are great. :) They sell cookies, pitch tents and generally have a good time. But they're not the type of guides that I'm here to discuss and they're not relevant to the Guides Forum. ;)

What is relevant is making sure that your title makes it clear to everyone that you've written an awesome guide. To that end, make sure that you put "Guide" in your title. It'll help us to make sure that no Scout or Cub threads invade this forum. ;)
