gravite 2h stats...a mistake?

I stated something like that in another thread and want to make an official thread to discuss the possible problem with the gravite 2h reward for f2p.

the stats are as follow:
attack:
-4 stab
-4 slash
+87 crush
-4 magic
+0 range

defence:
+0 stab
+0 slash
+0 crush
+0 magic
-1 range

other:
+90 strength
+0 prayer

you surely notice the unusual -4 slash for a 2h weapon. Here is what I think went wrong:

At first, the f2p gravite 2 handed weapon was supposed to be a maul and not a sword since ALL mauls have -4 in stab and slash. you can check the following section and look the stats for all dungeoneering mauls:

Home > Game Guide > Skills > Dungeoneering >
Dungeoneering - Equipment > Dungeoneering - Melee Equipment

the same goes for the chaotic maul reward.

So at first the designers made a gravite maul giving it the according stats we know. They may later have decided to change the maul to a 2h sword by attributing it a 2h design and attack styles, but forgot to change the stats accordingly.

I think this could be a good explanation, but i wanna hear if anyone else has something to say about this or knows why the gravite 2h has those strange stats.

PS: if this was in the wrong section I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with the forums

EDIT: this thread is for discussion, I already made a bug report. But of course if you too make one or if any of you can support it with buying the gravite 2h to say you witnessed the bug it will get more attention and be fixed sooner, maybe with the next dungeoneering update.

the gravite 2h sword can only use the crush style, as there isn't any slash styles you can choose. although it is a "sword", it can only use crush and not slash like other 2h swords. so basically it is a maul but apppears as a sword. its crush animation is the same as a rune 2h on crush style.

Edit: seems like it has slash attack now, when i first got it, it had all crush...interesting.

but according to other players, they said there were slash styles just like any 2h and even mentionning trying to do the range/2h pk with the gravite 2h and said it ruined it due to a slash attack attribute set at the same spot than the rapid fire on bow, unless there was some kind of update i or anyone else are aware about

I've heard the same thing as sirbanana which is why I haven't thought about getting one. That is, that the style options are exactly like other 2H's (slash on attack, slash on upper right strength button, slash on defence, crush on lower left strength button). If that's the case, it is truly next-to-useless for people used to range/2H'in* because those slash options are -4.

Here's what I know from other people. The sword's attack styles is just like a regular 2h. There's the accurate slash, the aggressive slash, the aggressive crush, and the defensive slash. However, as you stated, the stats of the 2h sword match up with a maul. That makes good sense that they mixed the stats up with a maul. Also I've heard that the sword's speed is the same speed as a battle axe, which is also the same speed as a maul in Dungeoneering.

So the Gravite 2h is just like any 2h but has the speed and stats of a maul.

(Needs to be confirmed.)

It's strange and it could be changed just as they changed the gravite long's stats. But at the same time it might just stay this way. I know it's odd but the Barrel Chest anchor is a crushing weapon with negative stab bonuses yet there's a stab option lmao.

i didn't know about the barrel chest anchor...but i believe we'd expect something better from a 2h at least :P or even just something that looks correct. it's a 40k tokens worth weapon from dungeoneering, vs the barrel chest anchor which is a quest reward i believe, and we don't know what to expect from quest rewards. That's why i like quests, you can be surprised with what you receive, lol.

*one small favour*...oh yeah...i was surprised...ANOTHER FAVOUR! lmao...the good times

the maul and 2h in dungeoneering are the same speed (tested it out) but the gravite 2h seems to be faster than a regular 2h sword

Well if dung 2h sword are same as maul, then it makes sense that gravite 2h is maul speed. Or basically**** speed.
