Introduction
Those adventurers wishing to take on the challenge of a mysterious dungeon, and possibly discover some class-specific armours, should head immediately to Rellekka and speak to Jarvald, the new ferryman on the north-western side of town, who will provide passage to Waterbirth Island for all interested in joining the battle, whether they be Fremennik or not.
Location
You can get to Waterbirth Island by travelling from the west dock in Rellekka. You need to locate and speak with Jarvald, who will sail his ship to the island. If you have completed the Fremennik Trials quest, Jarvald will happily sail you to Waterbirth Island for free.
If you have not completed this quest, Jarvald will breach the code of the Fremennik, and sail you as an Outlander to Waterbirth Island and back for the sum of 1000gp.
If you have travelled with Jarvald before, he will have a quick 'Right-click' option to travel.
Points of Interest
Of course, the Fremennik don't come to Waterbirth for the snape grass, they come here for the battles! If you are looking for an easier fight, you will find there are rock crabs scattered around the Island, which help you in your Combat training.
Toughened warriors will take note of the dungeon entrance on Waterbirth Island. As you will notice from trying to enter it, you will be warned that this Dungeon is no easy challenge. Waterbirth Dungeon goes deep beneath the Island, and is much like a multi-leveled maze of sorts, which requires careful planning and supplies to navigate. At the depths of the dungeon, you may find a horror more powerful than even a normal dagannoth...
Although it requires you to navigate a small part of Waterbirth Dungeon, you may find yourself back on Waterbirth Island in the area where Askeladden wanders.
Personalities
Jarvald is your first port of call when it comes to getting to and from Waterbirth Island.
|
Far too young to be drinking beer or fighting 'dagger-mouths', Askeladden is found on the upper area of Waterbirth's exterior. If you are a member of the Fremennik clan, Askeladden will give out pet rocks, and buy kegs of beer from you for 700gp each. If you are not in the Fremennik clan, he will only buy kegs of beer for 500 each. He will also buy pieces of monsters if you chose to sell them to him.

Jarvald is a toughened warrior of the Fremennik clan who enjoys sailing to Waterbirth Island with fremennik like himself to take on the hordes of dagannoths that come from Waterbirth Island. |

The Islands Inhabitants
Hobgoblins are found in most areas of RuneScape, they are basically a tougher version of goblins, generally using spears to attack.
|
Not all rocks on Waterbirth Island are rocks. As you walk past, you may find that a rock suddenly wakes up and is in fact a rock crab.
|
|
There are only a few hobgoblins on Waterbirth Island, usually grouping in the south-west area of the Island, although sometimes the wander up the dungeon entrance. | Although at Combat level 13 they won't be a challenge to most, rock crabs will still give you a pinch as you walk past. |
