My theory is that 3rd age doesn't come from clue scrolls. It is a myth made up by Jagex so we have initiative to spend 30 minutes running around the world for 30 lobs, 10 fire lighters, and a RUNE DAGGER. <br> <br>So if clues don't give 3rd age, then where does it come from. I have 4 guesses everytime I hear someone say that they have 3rd age. <br> <br>1.) They're a lieing noob (or it's borrowed). <br> <br>2.) They're an undercover J Mod that used their mod powers to magically spawn the 3rd age. <br> <br>3.) A player bought it from an undercover J Mod. <br> <br>4.) A player was randomly chosen by Jagex to receive a 3rd age piece in their clue. It's not a normal reward but merely a decoy to further make us believe that the armer does indeed come from clues. It has nothing to do with how many clues you did, you have just been chosen to be part of Jagex's scapegoat to cover up the real issue. <br> <br>5.) Ignatius Sis has a theory about parallel dimensions on page 52 that seems interesting. <br> <br>Further thoughts on option 4 suggests that Jagex RWTs and people pay Jagex for third age. Page 28. <br> <br>What other explanation is there for the fact that despite how many thousands of clues are done each day that it's still worth in the 10s of millions per piece? <br> <br>It doesn't come from clues at all. <br> <br>EDIT: Further latebreaking evidence of my theory. You can't put 3rd age armer in your treasure chest in your house. Why you may ask? that chest is for treasure trail items and 3rd age is not a treasure trail item. <br> <br>Forum Mod, Putri Xena, has confirmed my thoery on page 2. Apparently 3rd age is gift from Jagex for doing devoting your runescape life to them. <br> <br>Too all you saying you got 3rd age from a clue, nice try jagex, you ain't fooling anyone. <br> <br>EDIT: From July BTS, looks like they are susposedly releasing 3rd age prayer gear. Nice attempt to distract us, this new third age will be as nonexistent as the existing ones.

Correction. It does come from clues. <br> <br>I went on a clue scroll with a friend to protect him from revs, and his reward was a 3rd age mage top, Explain that. <br>(it was a great reward as we had been running round for 1 hour and 30minutes) <br> <br>~T.C

J mods do have personal non mod accounts. They have no authority in game but as moderators, they have access to the codes to generate items. <br> <br>Another theory I have is that Jagex releases rares into the Grand Exchange as to make sure the supply never reaches zero. Think about it, you never see who you are buying from when using the GE so it would be a perfect venue for jagex to rerelease rares without arrousing suspicion. But this is another topic entirely.

J Mod - or "gold crown" accounts can only be used at Jagex HQ in England, and not at the player's personal residences. This is for security purposes. May whatever God you believe in keep the RWT ers and perpetrators of RL credit card fraud from EVER getting into a "gold crown J-mod account"... <br> <br>While I am unaware of such, It would NOT suprise me that some J-mod employees (maybe those in community relations/development) would "p-mod" their personal player accounts and hide out in that regard... <br> <br>Jagex people are most definitely strictly prohibited from using their J-mod accounts to "help" their personal accounts, and they DO have to declare them to get them free of charge - that comes from Andrew and Paul (the owners)- and the CEO of Jagex as well <img class="sm0" alt=":)" title=":)" src="../../../site/img/blk.gif" /> <br> <br>From what I hear, a single free membership is the sole benefit of being a "gold crown j-mod" that is connected to actual runescape, and there is ZERO "game advantage" attached to being either a p-mod as well - such as more xp or items. Membership is as low as 5 usd after a year (if you pay by credit/debit card) or have been a member since the before the price increased... so that is about a 60 usd employee benefit... please give Jagex people some sort of break. <br> <br>I mean, they do have some sort of life outside of creating and playing runescape... right?
