Sailing away from Port Sarim...

Port Sarim is a town dominated by its docks; the whole town lies close to the coast and close to all the trade that travellers bring in. It is also filled with people whose histories might include piracy or, at the very least, 'wholesale plunder trading'. Despite the unsavoury underbelly of the town, it is still very friendly - probably because Port Sarim jail is always ready to accept new inmates.

Anyone looking to travel across the seas for the first time will usually arrive in Port Sarim, ready to negotiate passage to a variety of destinations. Equally, anyone looking to meet their first pirate will probably come here, especially if they want to meet friendly pirates.

Map of Port Sarim

Port Sarim lies directly south of Falador, the Asgarnian capital, and ever so slightly west of Draynor Village.

Further east beyond Draynor Village is the peaceful town of Lumbridge, where young adventurers cut their teeth before wandering out into a more dangerous world.

Past Rimmington to the west, across the seas, is the island of Karamja, home of the decidedly more piratical Brimhaven.

Port Sarim's points of interest

The port, being the reason for the town's name, provides much to interest adventurers. From the docks that dominate the town, a traveller may make their way to the jungle island of Karamja, pacifist Entrana or the mysterious guthixian Void Knight Outpost. With the arrival of the charter ships, adventurers may find themselves in all manner of ports around RuneScape if they have the funds to support such journeys.

If you own an overgrown cat and wish to train it up to a wily cat, or already own a wily cat in need of some exercise, then the Rat Pit is the place for you.

The Magic shop in Port Sarim stocks a nice supply of runes, as well as some fairly useful newts' eyes.

Just south-west of the town, and immediately west of the prison, is a church where you may pray to recharge your Prayer points.

There is a Farming patch in the north-east of the town where farmers may grow a spirit tree, while north of the town is a solitary yew tree, waiting to be felled by a competent lumberjack.
