Tips and Tricks

Select a Range

It is easy to select a range in forms with tick boxes, just tick the first one and then shift-tick the last one. Great when you don't want to select all, but you do want to select a significant number of items all in a row. Don't forget you can use sorting to change the order.

Set Episode Numbers for Sequential Range

When you're manually importing, a range of incorrectly numbered, but sequential episodes can be easily fixed. You'll sort them correctly to start with, select the range of files w/ tick + shift-tick, select the correct season and then select the correct episodes w/ tick + shift-tick again. You can even fix single files with multiple episodes this way by selecting the right multiple of episodes. Just be sure all the files you're fixing are supposed to have the same number of episodes.

Per Indexer Seed Time and Ratio Goals

You can set per tracker seed time and ratio goals, allowing you to customize your seeding. You can set your public torrents to seed to 1.0, but your private torrents to whatever you prefer, like that tracker's rules. Combine this with setting your torrent client to pause or stop when seeding goals are met and the Remove option under Completed Download Handler, Sonarr will clean up your torrents too.

Note: If you use Post-Import Category, Sonarr won't be tracking your torrents and Remove will not work. But the torrents will still pause or stop, allowing you to manually clean up occasionally. And rTorrent cannot Remove at all.

Rename Show Folders

If you've changed your series folder name template and want to rename your existing series folders, you need to use a trick. At Series -> Mass Editor, pick the shows in the same root folder you want to rename folders for and then use the Root Folder changer, but select the same root folder they're already in. Be sure to select Yes, Move the Files.

Note: This is for v3 (phantom) only.
