CMake: Make most target symbols hidden by default Summary: For builds with LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON and BUILD_SHARED_LIBS=OFF this change makes all symbols in the target specific libraries hidden by default. A new macro called LLVM_EXTERNAL_VISIBILITY has been added to mark symbols in these libraries public, which is mainly needed for the definitions of the LLVMInitialize* functions. This patch reduces the number of public symbols in libLLVM.so by about 25%. This should improve load times for the dynamic library and also make abi checker tools, like abidiff require less memory when analyzing libLLVM.so One side-effect of this change is that for builds with LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB=ON and LLVM_LINK_LLVM_DYLIB=ON some unittests that access symbols that are no longer public will need to be statically linked. Completely refactor the structuring of unittest CMake files to match the Makefiles, the CMake files in every other part of the LLVM tree, and sanity. This should also restore the output tree structure of all the unit tests, sorry for breaking that, and thanks for letting me know. The fundamental change is to put a CMakeLists.txt file in the unittest directory, with a single test binary produced from it. This has several advantages: - No more weird directory stripping in the unittest macro, allowing it to be used more readily in other projects. - No more directory prefixes on all the source files. - Allows correct and precise use of LLVM's per-directory dependency system. - Allows use of the checking logic for source files that have not been added to the CMake build. This uncovered a file being skipped with CMake in LLVM and one in Clang's unit tests. - Makes Specifying conditional compilation or other custom logic for JIT tests easier. It did require adding the concept of an explicit 'optional' source file to the CMake build so that the missing-file check can skip cases where the file is *supposed* to be missing. =] This is another chunk of refactoring the CMake build in order to make it usable for other clients like CompilerRT / ASan / TSan. AsmParser: Require a terminating null character when creating memory buffer. This commit modifies the memory buffer creation in the AsmParser library so that it requires a terminating null character. The LLLexer in the AsmParser library checks for EOF only when it sees a null character, thus it would be best to require it when creating a memory buffer so that the memory buffer constructor can verify that a terminating null character is indeed present. [Bitcode] Move Bitstream to a separate library This moves Bitcode/Bitstream*, Bitcode/BitCodes.h to Bitstream/. This is needed to avoid a circular dependency when using the bitstream code for parsing optimization remarks. Since Bitcode uses Core for the IR part: libLLVMRemarks -> Bitcode -> Core and Core uses libLLVMRemarks to generate remarks (see IR/RemarkStreamer.cpp): Core -> libLLVMRemarks we need to separate the Bitstream and Bitcode part. Reland [FileCheck] Move FileCheck implementation out of LLVMSupport into its own library This relands e9a3d1a401b07cbf7b11695637f1b549782a26cd which was originally missing linking LLVMSupport into LLMVFileCheck which broke the SHARED_LIBS build. Original summary: The actual FileCheck logic seems to be implemented in LLVMSupport. I don't see a good reason for having FileCheck implemented there as it has a very specific use while LLVMSupport is a dependency of pretty much every LLVM tool there is. In fact, the only use of FileCheck I could find (outside the FileCheck tool and the FileCheck unit test) is a single call in GISelMITest.h. This moves the FileCheck logic to its own LLVMFileCheck library. This way only FileCheck and the GlobalISelTests now have a dependency on this code. [OpenMP] Introduce the OpenMP-IR-Builder This is the initial patch for the OpenMP-IR-Builder, as discussed on the mailing list ([1] and later) and at the US Dev Meeting'19. The design is similar to D61953 but: - in a non-WIP status, with proper documentation and working. - using a OpenMPKinds.def file to manage lists of directives, runtime functions, types, ..., similar to the current Clang implementation. - restricted to handle only (simple) barriers, to implement most `#pragma omp barrier` directives and most implicit barriers. - properly hooked into Clang to be used if possible (D69922). - compatible with the remaining code generation. Parts have been extracted into D69853. The plan is to have multiple people working on moving logic from Clang here once the initial scaffolding (=this patch) landed. Introduce line editor library. This library will be used by clang-query. I can imagine LLDB becoming another client of this library, so I think LLVM is a sensible place for it to live. It wraps libedit, and adds tab completion support. The code is loosely based on the line editor bits in LLDB, with a few improvements: - Polymorphism for retrieving the list of tab completions, based on the concept pattern from the new pass manager. - Tab completion doesn't corrupt terminal output if the input covers multiple lines. Unfortunately this can only be done in a truly horrible way, as far as I can tell. But since the alternative is to implement our own line editor (which I don't think LLVM should be in the business of doing, at least for now) I think it may be acceptable. - Includes a fallback for the case where the user doesn't have libedit installed. Fix MCDataAtom never calling remap when adding data. This patch fixes a small mistake in MCDataAtom::addData() where it doesn't ever call remap(): - if (Data.size() > Begin - End - 1) + if (Data.size() > End + 1 - Begin) remap(Begin, End + 1); This is currently not visible because of another bug is the disassembler, so the patch includes a unit test. Fix llvm-symbolizer to correctly sort a symbol array and calculate symbol sizes Sometimes, llvm-symbolizer gives wrong results due to incorrect sizes of some symbols. The reason for that was an incorrectly sorted array in computeSymbolSizes. The comparison function used subtraction of unsigned types, which is incorrect. [OptRemarks] Make OptRemarks more generic: rename OptRemarks to Remarks Getting rid of the name "optimization remarks" for anything that involves handling remarks on the client side. It's safer to do this now, before we get stuck with that name in all the APIs and public interfaces we decide to export to users in the future. This renames llvm/tools/opt-remarks to llvm/tools/remarks-shlib, and now generates `libRemarks.dylib` instead of `libOptRemarks.dylib`.
