47b3fd0d48 [llvm-cov] Add support for exporting coverage data to JSON
This enables users to export coverage information as portable JSON for use by
analysis tools and storage in document based databases.

The export sub-command is invoked just like the others:

  llvm-cov export -instr-profile path/to/foo.profdata path/to/foo.binary

The resulting JSON contains a list of files and functions. Every file object
contains a list of segments, expansions, and a summary of the file's region,
function, and line coverage. Every function object contains the function's name
and regions. There is also a total summary for the entire object file.

Patch by Eddie Hurtig!

dfb328c437 [docs] Fixing Sphinx warnings to unclog the buildbot
Lots of blocks had "llvm" or "nasm" syntax types but either weren't following
the syntax, or the syntax has changed (and sphinx hasn't keep up) or the type
doesn't even exist (nasm?).

Other documents had :options: what were invalid. I only removed those that had
warnings, and left the ones that didn't, in order to follow the principle of
least surprise.

This is like this for ages, but the buildbot is now failing on errors. It may
take a while to upgrade the buildbot's sphinx, if that's even possible, but
that shouldn't stop us from getting docs updates (which seem down for quite
a while).

Also, we're not losing any syntax highlight, since when it doesn't parse, it
doesn't colour. Ie. those blocks are not being highlighted anyway.

I'm trying to get all docs in one go, so that it's easy to revert later if we
do fix, or at least easy to know what's to fix.

78dfceef4b Retry: [llvm-profdata] Speed up merging by using a thread pool
Add a "-j" option to llvm-profdata to control the number of threads used.
Auto-detect NumThreads when it isn't specified, and avoid spawning threads when
they wouldn't be beneficial.

I tested this patch using a raw profile produced by clang (147MB). Here is the
time taken to merge 4 copies together on my laptop:

No thread pool: 112.87s user 5.92s system 97% cpu 2:01.08 total
  With 2 threads: 134.99s user 26.54s system 164% cpu 1:33.31 total

Changes since the initial commit:

  - When handling odd-length inputs, call ThreadPool::wait() before merging the
last profile. Should fix a race/off-by-one (see r275937).

This reverts commit r275921. It broke the ppc64be bot:

  http://lab.llvm.org:8011/builders/clang-ppc64be-linux-multistage/builds/3537

I'm not sure why it broke, but based on the output, it looks like an
off-by-one (one profile left un-merged).

70a7aa9968 bugpoint: add flag -verbose-errors
The default behavior of bugpoint is to print "<crash>" when it finds a reduced
test that crashes compilation. With this flag we now can see the output of the
crashing program. This is useful to make sure it is the same error being
tracked down and not a different error that happens to crash the compiler as
well.

85f0f82387 [llvm-profdata] Revert r271709 and the 3 subsequent commits - the code
and/or tests aren't working on Windows currently.

There seems to be some problem with quoting the file paths. I don't
understand the test structure here or the code well enough to try to
come up with a way to correctly handle paths with back slashes in them,
and this has caused the Windows builds to be failing for 7 hours now, so
I'm reverting the whole thing to bring them back to life. Sorry for the
disruption, but a couple of these were bug fixes anyways that can be
folded into a fresh commit.

Reverts the following patches:

r271756: Clean up the way we create the input filenames buffer (NFC)
r271748: Fix use-after-free from discarded MemoryBuffer (NFC)
r271710: Fix option description (NFC)

b95c2eec31 [llvm-profdata] Add support for weighted merge of profile data (2nd try)
Summary:
This change adds support for specifying a weight when merging profile data with the llvm-profdata tool.
Weights are specified by using the --weighted-input=<weight>,<filename> option. Input files not specified
with this option (normal positional list after options) are given a default weight of 1.

Adding support for arbitrary weighting of input profile data allows for relative importance to be placed on the
input data from multiple training runs.

Both sampled and instrumented profiles are supported.

75f12574da [EABI] Add LLVM support for -meabi flag
"GCC requires the freestanding environment provide memcpy, memmove, memset
and memcmp": https://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc-5.2.0/gcc/Standards.html

Hence in GNUEABI targets LLVM should not convert 'memops' to their equivalent
'__aeabi_memops'. This convertion violates GCC contract.

The -meabi flag controls whether or not LLVM will modify 'memops' in GNUEABI
targets.

Without -meabi: use the triple default EABI.
With -meabi=default: use the triple default EABI.
With -meabi=gnu: use 'memops'.
With -meabi=4 or -meabi=5: use '__aeabi_memops'.
With -meabi set to an unknown value: same as -meabi=default.

babd40ed93 Improving lli documentation
Too many people hope lli would act as an emulator when it's actually
just a tool to help prototype IR code and test the JIT compiler. This
commit makes that fact explicit in the documentation

It also migrates the old style bold/italic doc tags to the preferred
meta tags (.. option::, :program:, etc).

No errors when generating the documents, visual inspection in the HTML
result doesn't show any major difference, apart from the slight style
change.

09b5c9c24d IR: Give 'DI' prefix to debug info metadata
Finish off PR23080 by renaming the debug info IR constructs from `MD*`
to `DI*`. The last of the `DIDescriptor` classes were deleted in
r235356, and the last of the related typedefs removed in r235413, so
this has all baked for about a week.

Note: If you have out-of-tree code (like a frontend), I recommend that
you get everything compiling and tests passing with the *previous*
commit before updating to this one. It'll be easier to keep track of
what code is using the `DIDescriptor` hierarchy and what you've already
updated, and I think you're extremely unlikely to insert bugs. YMMV of
course.

Back to *this* commit: I did this using the rename-md-di-nodes.sh
upgrade script I've attached to PR23080 (both code and testcases) and
filtered through clang-format-diff.py. I edited the tests for
test/Assembler/invalid-generic-debug-node-*.ll by hand since the columns
were off-by-three. It should work on your out-of-tree testcases (and
code, if you've followed the advice in the previous paragraph).

Some of the tests are in badly named files now (e.g.,
test/Assembler/invalid-mdcompositetype-missing-tag.ll should be
'dicompositetype'); I'll come back and move the files in a follow-up
commit.

644e75522f [lit] Add --show-xfail flag to LIT.
Summary:
This patch add a --show-xfail flag. If this flag is specified then each xfail test will be printed to output.
When it is not given xfail tests are ignored. Ignoring xfail tests is the current behavior.

This flag is meant to mirror the --show-unsupported flag that was recently added.

602ce0f496 Add FileCheck -implicit-check-not option to allow stricter tests without adding too many CHECK-NOTs manually.
Summary:
Add FileCheck -implicit-check-not option which allows specifying a
pattern that should only occur in the input when explicitly matched by a
positive check. This feature allows checking tool diagnostics in a way
clang -verify does it for compiler diagnostics.

The option has been tested on a number of clang-tidy checks, I'll post a link to
the clang-tidy patch to this thread.

Once there's an agreement on the general direction, I can add tests and
documentation.

ade468f2c3 Remove LowerInvoke's obsolete "-enable-correct-eh-support" option
This option caused LowerInvoke to generate code using SJLJ-based
exception handling, but there is no code left that interprets the
jmp_buf stack that the resulting code maintained (llvm.sjljeh.jblist).
This option has been obsolete for a while, and replaced by
SjLjEHPrepare.

This leaves the default behaviour of LowerInvoke, which is to convert
invokes to calls.

73eacbb02b PGO: llvm-profdata: tool for merging profiles
Introducing llvm-profdata, a tool for merging profile data generated by
PGO instrumentation in clang.

- The name indicates a file extension of <name>.profdata. Eventually
profile data output by clang should be changed to that extension.

- llvm-profdata merges two profiles. However, the name is more general,
since it will likely pick up more tasks (such as summarizing a single
  profile).

- llvm-profdata parses the current text-based format, but will be
updated once we settle on a binary format.

2cf6d36f16 Use pipefail when available.
This change makes test with RUN lines like
RUN: opt ... | FileCheck

fail if opt fails, even if it prints what FileCheck wants. Enabling this
found some interesting cases of broken tests that were not being noticed
because opt (or some other tool) was crashing late.

Pipefail is used when the shell supports it or when using the internal
python based tester.

7148920f58 Add new directive called CHECK-LABEL to FileCheck.
CHECK-LABEL is meant to be used in place on CHECK on lines containing identifiers or other unique labels (they need not actually be labels in the source or output language, though.) This is used to break up the input stream into separate blocks delineated by CHECK-LABEL lines, each of which is checked independently. This greatly improves the accuracy of errors and fix-it hints in many cases, and allows for FileCheck to recover from errors in one block by continuing to subsequent blocks.

Some tests will be converted to use this new directive in forthcoming patches.
