76a6f34a7e [IR] Introduce a non-integral pointer type
Summary:
This change adds a `ni` specifier in the `datalayout` string to denote
pointers in some given address spaces as "non-integral", and adds some
typing rules around these special pointers.

27c9c6ef84 Have DataLayout::isLegalInteger() accept uint64_t
While not strictly necessary, since we don't support large integer
types, this avoids bugs due to silent truncation from uint64_t to a
32-bit unsigned (e.g. DL.isLegalInteger(DL.getTypeSizeInBits(Ty) )

This fixes PR26972.

b798ad869b [IR] Optimize bitfield layout of Value for MSVC
This should save a pointer of padding from all MSVC Value subclasses.

Recall that MSVC will not pack the following bitfields together:
  unsigned Bits : 29;
  unsigned Flag1 : 1;
  unsigned Flag2 : 1;
  unsigned Flag3 : 1;

Add a static_assert because LLVM developers always trip over this
behavior. This regressed in June.

b29b50a9dd Instcombine: destructor loads of structs that do not contains padding
For non padded structs, we can just proceed and deaggregate them.
We don't want ot do this when there is padding in the struct as to not
lose information about this padding (the subsequents passes would then
try hard to preserve the padding, which is undesirable).

Also update extractvalue.ll and cast.ll so that they use structs with padding.

Remove the FIXME in the extractvalue of laod case as the non padded case is
handled when processing the load, and we don't want to do it on the padded
case.

29ebc2d39f Make DataLayout Non-Optional in the Module
Summary:
DataLayout keeps the string used for its creation.

As a side effect it is no longer needed in the Module.
This is "almost" NFC, the string is no longer
canonicalized, you can't rely on two "equals" DataLayout
having the same string returned by getStringRepresentation().

Get rid of DataLayoutPass: the DataLayout is in the Module

The DataLayout is "per-module", let's enforce this by not
duplicating it more than necessary.
One more step toward non-optionality of the DataLayout in the
module.

e8b34aaff0 AArch64: treat [N x Ty] as a block during procedure calls.
The AAPCS treats small structs and homogeneous floating (or vector) aggregates
specially, and guarantees they either get passed as a contiguous block of
registers, or prevent any future use of those registers and get passed on the
stack.

This concept can fit quite neatly into LLVM's own type system, mapping an HFA
to [N x float] and so on, and small structs to [N x i64]. Doing so allows
front-ends to emit AAPCS compliant code without having to duplicate the
register counting logic.

4753b87f60 Add doInitialization/doFinalization to DataLayoutPass.
With this a DataLayoutPass can be reused for multiple modules.

Once we have doInitialization/doFinalization, it doesn't seem necessary to pass
a Module to the constructor.

Overall this change seems in line with the idea of making DataLayout a required
part of Module. With it the only way of having a DataLayout used is to add it
to the Module.

1b07b35205 Use DataLayout from the module when easily available.
Eventually DataLayoutPass should go away, but for now that is the only easy
way to get a DataLayout in some APIs. This patch only changes the ones that
have easy access to a Module.

One interesting issue with sometimes using DataLayoutPass and sometimes
fetching it from the Module is that we have to make sure they are equivalent.
We can get most of the way there by always constructing the pass with a Module.
In fact, the pass could be changed to point to an external DataLayout instead
of owning one to make this stricter.

Unfortunately, the C api passes a DataLayout, so it has to be up to the caller
to make sure the pass and the module are in sync.

4ecee5654d Fix resetting the DataLayout in a Module.
No tool does this currently, but as everything else in a module we should be
able to change its DataLayout.

Most of the fix is in DataLayout to make sure it can be reset properly.

The test uses Module::setDataLayout since the fact that we mutate a DataLayout
is an implementation detail. The module could hold a OwningPtr<DataLayout> and
the DataLayout itself could be immutable.

Thanks to Philip Reames for pushing me in the right direction.

eae6386a1e Make the llvm mangler depend only on DataLayout.
Before this patch any program that wanted to know the final symbol name of a
GlobalValue had to link with Target.

This patch implements a compromise solution where the mangler uses DataLayout.
This way, any tool that already links with Target (llc, clang) gets the exact
behavior as before and new IR files can be mangled without linking with Target.

With this patch the mangler is constructed with just a DataLayout and DataLayout
is extended to include the information the Mangler needs.

95d600810f Remove the 's' DataLayout specification
During the years there have been some attempts at figuring out how to
align byval arguments. A look at the commit log suggests that they
were

* Use the ABI alignment.
* When that was not sufficient for x86-64, I added the 's' specification to
  DataLayout.
* When that was not sufficient Evan added the virtual getByValTypeAlignment.
* When even that was not sufficient, we just got the FE to add the alignment
  to the byval.

This patch is just a simple cleanup that removes my first attempt at fixing the
problem. I also added an AArch64 implementation of getByValTypeAlignment to
make sure this patch is a nop. I also left the 's' parsing for backward
compatibility.

I will send a short email to llvmdev about the change for anyone maintaining
an out of tree target.

8613f86d1c Hoist the definition of getTypeSizeInBits to be inlinable and in the
header.

This method is called in the hot path for *many* passes, SROA is what
caught my interest. A common pattern is that which branch of the switch
should be taken is known in the callsite and so it is a very good
candidate for inlining and simplification. Moving it into the header
allows the optimizer to fold a lot of boring, repeatitive code in
callers of this routine.

I'm seeing pretty significant speedups in parts of SROA and I suspect
other passes will see similar speedups if they end up working with type
sizes frequently. I've not seen any significant growth of the binaries
as a consequence, but let me know if you see anything suspicious here.

7a5199df98 Add a doFinalization method to the DataLayout pass.
This pass is meant to be immutable, however it holds mutable state to cache StructLayouts.
This method will allow the pass manager to clear the mutable state between runs.

Note that unfortunately it is still necessary to have the destructor, even though it does the
same thing as doFinalization. This is because most TargetMachines embed a DataLayout on which
doFinalization isn't run as its never added to the pass manager.

I also didn't think it was necessary to complication things with a deInit method for which
doFinalization and ~DataLayout both call as there's only one field of mutable state. If we had
more fields to finalize i'd have added this.
