Summary: When using a profile, we used to require the use -gmlt so that we could get access to the line locations. This is used to match line numbers in the input profile to the line numbers in the function's IR. But this is actually not necessary. The driver can provide source location tracking without the emission of debug information. In these cases, the annotation 'llvm.dbg.cu' is missing from the IR, but the actual line location annotations are still present. This patch adds a new way of looking for the start of the current function. Instead of looking through the compile units in llvm.dbg.cu, we can walk up the scope for the first instruction in the function with a debug loc. If that describes the function, we use it. Otherwise, we keep looking until we find one. If no such instruction is found, we then give up and produce an error. Low Level Virtual Machine (LLVM) ================================ This directory and its subdirectories contain source code for the Low Level Virtual Machine, a toolkit for the construction of highly optimized compilers, optimizers, and runtime environments. LLVM is open source software. You may freely distribute it under the terms of the license agreement found in LICENSE.txt. Please see the documentation provided in docs/ for further assistance with LLVM, and in particular docs/GettingStarted.rst for getting started with LLVM and docs/README.txt for an overview of LLVM's documentation setup. If you're writing a package for LLVM, see docs/Packaging.rst for our suggestions.
