Jatizso and Neitiznot (Members)

Warning

You must have started The Fremennik Isles to access Jatizso and Neitiznot.

Introduction

A lovely view of Neitiznot
The seasoned explorer will be aware that the Fremennik have a natural inclination to argue, and nowhere is this more evident than Jatizso and Neitiznot. These twin nations argue even more than Miscellania and Etceteria, which is no small feat. The origin of this endless dispute has become muddled and hazy over time, suffice it to say that it's a good thing there is no direct bridge between the nations.

Of course, things only get this way when family is involved, so it's little surprise to discover that the rulers of each nation are in fact brothers. There's no telling what they might do to win a final victory over their sibling, so a clever adventurer will do their best to avoid getting caught in the middle... if they can.

Location

Location of the boat to the isles
Jatizso and Neitiznot are a collection of small, rocky islands in the Lunar Sea, located between Miscellania and Lunar Isle. The only way to get there is by invitation of the ruler of either nation. Few Fremennik know where the islands are (and even less would care to get involved in those twisted politics), so prospective tourists should speak to Mord or Maria Gunnars, who can be found on the northern docks of Rellekka.

Points of Interest

A rather large map of Jatizso and Neitiznot

The islands on which Jatizso and Neitiznot are situated are remarkably rich with resources, and the bold adventurer will be able to make the most of these opportunities.

Of greatest interest to most will be the mine on the central island, featuring a small runite deposit free from the risk of being slain by a wandering stranger. In addition to this mine, there are a number of ore deposits in the northern islands (although miners are in danger of troll attacks), and a massive mine beneath Jatizso.

In Neitiznot, much of the industry is founded on the yaks and arctic pine to the west of the town. These can be crafted into yak-hide armour, rope and Fremennik roundshields.

For those explorers more intrigued by combat and other such bloodthirsty pursuits, the trolls that populate the northern islands are more than happy to oblige...

Personalities

King Gjuki Sorvott IV
[image]
Like most monarchs, King Gjuki Sorvott IV has little time for commoners - unless they can help him procure taxes. By Fremennik standards, he's probably quite a good king... Then again, how many Fremennik kings are there?
HRH Hrafn
[image]
His Royal Highness, the Regent of Tuna, Glorious Furred Master of the Basket, Hrafn is a cat who knows his place in the world. If you want to take advantage of his pearls of divine wisdom you'll have to come prepared, but surely it's worth it.
King Gjuki Sorvott IV enjoys being imperial in his throne room in Jatizso. HRH Hrafn is even more imperial in the throne room of Jatizso.
Mawnis Burrowgar
[image]
Mawnis Burrowgar is an excellent example of Neitiznot's society, which naturally means that he is remarkably similar to King Gjuki Sorvott IV. Of course, neither of them would ever dare to admit it, but there must be many who pass such comments in private.
Slug Hemligsson
[image]
The talented fool to Mawnis Burrowgar and spy for King Gjuki Sorvott IV, Slug Hemligsson is a prime example of the lengths the two rulers will go to in order to get one over their rival. He may not be a 'real' fool, but he certainly looks foolish enough even when he's deadly serious.
Mawnis Burrowgar can be found in his hall in Neitiznot. Slug Hemligsson can be found at the rendezvous point.

Curiosities of the Islands

Yak (Level 22)
The humble yak is a belligerent animal with a remarkable odour. It is also symbolic of the Neitiznotian way of life, which naturally makes it the basis for many insults hurled across the waters from Jatizso.
Ice Troll Runt (Level 74)
The smallest of the ice trolls are called runts, though this is only by trollish standards - even a runt is a match for the soldiers of Jatizso and Neitiznot. Like all trolls, the runts are still aggressive and persistent, so do not expect them to leave you alone.
Yaks can be found in the enclosure in Neitiznot. Ice troll runts can be found all over the isles outside Jatizso and Neitiznot.
Ice Troll Female (Level 82)
Possibly there to keep an eye on their feeble children, the ice troll females wander across the fields of rock and patrol the mines, attacking anyone foolish enough to come within their reach. If anything, they're even more aggressive than other trolls, and should not be sniffed at (trolls are not noted for their personal hygiene).
Ice Troll Male (Level 82)
Ice troll males are, like all other trolls (are you beginning to notice a pattern here?), remarkably aggressive and quite strong. In the far north of the isles, where the trolls cluster in greater numbers above their underground lair, the trolls are in such numbers that only the very bold and the very stupid will dare trespass.
Ice troll females can be found wherever there are ice troll runts. Ice troll males can be found spread across the northern island.
Ice Troll Grunt (Level 100)
The grunts are the soldiers of the Ice Troll King, and are the most powerful of the trolls that wander the surface of the isles. Mercifully, they are easy to spot due to their odd, trollish armour (probably made of yak-hide). A wise adventurer should know to avoid these brutal creatures.
Ice troll grunts can be found on the northern island.

Miscellaneous

  • If you wish to make yak-hide armour, you will have to take your yak skins to Thakkrad Sigmundson (in Mawnis Burrowgar's hall) to have them tanned.
