Many centuries ago, the Moon Clan travelled RuneScape establishing altars with which to create runes. Following their battles with the Fremennik, many of these were lost and only recently rediscovered - the Ourania Altar is the latest of these.
|
||

Of course, Runecrafting altars are powerful artefacts to control, and the ZMI - jealous of the Saradominists' apparent monopoly on the rune essence - has leapt into action to seize this important site. <br><a name="Location"></a><br class="clear">

Ourania Cave's entrance lies next to the Zamorak Altar, which can be found west of the <a href="tree_gnome_village_and_battlefield_members.html">Battlefield</a>, which lies just outside <a href="west_ardougne_members.html">West Ardougne</a>'s south wall.
|
||

||
As an unholy site of Zamorak's power, it is unsurprising that the great Zamorakian astronomer, Scorpius, can be found just to the south - although he's been dead for quite some time.
|
||

||
Adventurers who have <a href="lunar_diplomacy_members.html">healed the rift between the Moon Clan and the Fremennik</a> will also be able to learn a new <a href="magic_the_lunar_spells.html">Ourania Teleport</a> spell to bring them to the start of the path leading up to the entrance to Ourania Cave. To learn this spell, though, they must first speak with <a href="lunar_isle_members.html">Baba Yaga</a>.

Interesting areas of the Ourania Caves

Within Ourania Cave are two paths to the altar itself. The first is short and broad, and seems from maps to be the obvious choice, while the second is a long and twisting path that winds through a lake of fiery lava and spitting magma. It is for this reason, then, that the ZMI have placed their guards upon the simpler path, all the better to protect the novices of their order that run to and from the Altar.

Near the entrance to the cave is Eniola, a humble servant of the Bank of RuneScape. His presence has been commissioned by the ZMI to improve the efficiency of their Runecrafting operations. For the very reasonable price of twenty runes, he will grant you access to your bank account.
|
