b7b3e8e261 RegAllocFast: Record internal state based on register units
Record internal state based on register units. This is often more
efficient as there are typically fewer register units to update
compared to iterating over all the aliases of a register.

Original patch by Matthias Braun, but I've been rebasing and fixing it
for almost 2 years and fixed a few bugs causing intermediate failures
to make this patch independent of the changes in
https://reviews.llvm.org/D52010.

5fe7f3e187 RegAllocFast: Improve hinting heuristic
Trace through multiple COPYs when looking for a physreg source. Add
hinting for vregs that will be copied into physregs (we only hinted
for vregs getting copied to a physreg previously). Give hinted a
register a bonus when deciding which value to spill. This is part of
my rewrite regallocfast series. In fact this one doesn't even have an
effect unless you also flip the allocation to happen from back to
front of a basic block. Nonetheless it helps to split this up to ease
review of D52010

be591983cd RegAllocFast: Remove early selection loop, the spill calculation will report cost 0 anyway for free regs
The 2nd loop calculates spill costs but reports free registers as cost
0 anyway, so there is little benefit from having a separate early
loop.

Surprisingly this is not NFC, as many register are marked regDisabled
so the first loop often picks up later registers unnecessarily instead
of the first one available in the allocation order...

bbc71b8057 [AArch64][GlobalISel] Enable GlobalISel at -O0 by default
Tests updated to explicitly use fast-isel at -O0 instead of implicitly.

This change also allows an explicit -fast-isel option to override an
implicitly enabled global-isel. Otherwise -fast-isel would have no effect at -O0.

0453fd2de1 Revert "[AArch64][FastISel] Add more truncation tests." and "[AArch64][FastISel] Always use an AND instruction when truncating to non-legal types."
This reverts commit r243198 and 243304.

Turns out this wasn't the correct fix for this problem. It works only within
FastISel, but fails when the truncate is selected by SDAG.

This is a follow-up to r243198 and adds more truncation tests.

b1788053ee [AArch64][FastISel] Always use an AND instruction when truncating to non-legal types.
When truncating to non-legal types (such as i16, i8 and i1) always use an AND
instruction to mask out the upper bits. This was only done when the source type
was an i64, but not when the source type was an i32.

This commit fixes this and adds the missing i32 truncate tests.

This fixes rdar://problem/21990703.

ab043ff680 [opaque pointer type] Add textual IR support for explicit type parameter to load instruction
Essentially the same as the GEP change in r230786.

A similar migration script can be used to update test cases, though a few more
test case improvements/changes were required this time around: (r229269-r229278)

import fileinput
import sys
import re

pat = re.compile(r"((?:=|:|^)\s*load (?:atomic )?(?:volatile )?(.*?))(| addrspace\(\d+\) *)\*($| *(?:%|@|null|undef|blockaddress|getelementptr|addrspacecast|bitcast|inttoptr|\[\[[a-zA-Z]|\{\{).*$)")

for line in sys.stdin:
  sys.stdout.write(re.sub(pat, r"\1, \2\3*\4", line))

32875af6e3 Change the fast-isel-abort option from bool to int to enable "levels"
Summary:
Currently fast-isel-abort will only abort for regular instructions,
and just warn for function calls, terminators, function arguments.
There is already fast-isel-abort-args but nothing for calls and
terminators.

This change turns the fast-isel-abort options into an integer option,
so that multiple levels of strictness can be defined.
This will help no being surprised when the "abort" option indeed does
not abort, and enables the possibility to write test that verifies
that no intrinsics are forgotten by fast-isel.

040a60a3d3 [FastISel][AArch64] Fold sign-/zero-extends into the load instruction.
The sign-/zero-extension of the loaded value can be performed by the memory
instruction for free. If the result of the load has only one use and the use is
a sign-/zero-extend, then we emit the proper load instruction. The extend is
only a register copy and will be optimized away later on.

Other instructions that consume the sign-/zero-extended value are also made
aware of this fact, so they don't fold the extend too.

This fixes rdar://problem/18495928.

98be3942ed [FastISel][AArch64] Use the correct register class to make the MI verifier happy.
This is mostly achieved by providing the correct register class manually,
because getRegClassFor always returns the GPR*AllRegClass for MVT::i32 and
MVT::i64.

Also cleanup the code to use the FastEmitInst_* method whenever possible. This
makes sure that the operands' register class is properly constrained. For all
the remaining cases this adds the missing constrainOperandRegClass calls for
each operand.

ca0f4dc4f0 AArch64/ARM64: move ARM64 into AArch64's place
This commit starts with a "git mv ARM64 AArch64" and continues out
from there, renaming the C++ classes, intrinsics, and other
target-local objects for consistency.

"ARM64" test directories are also moved, and tests that began their
life in ARM64 use an arm64 triple, those from AArch64 use an aarch64
triple. Both should be equivalent though.

This finishes the AArch64 merge, and everyone should feel free to
continue committing as normal now.
