13bb84d557 [X86] Vectorcall Calling Convention - Adding CodeGen Complete Support
The vectorcall calling convention specifies that arguments to functions are to be passed in registers, when possible.
vectorcall uses more registers for arguments than fastcall or the default x64 calling convention use. 
The vectorcall calling convention is only supported in native code on x86 and x64 processors that include Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 (SSE2) and above.

The current implementation does not handle Homogeneous Vector Aggregates (HVAs) correctly and this review attempts to fix it.
This aubmit also includes additional lit tests to cover better HVAs corner cases.

a3fae67e12 [X86] RegCall - Handling v64i1 in 32/64 bit target
Register Calling Convention defines a new behavior for v64i1 types.
This type should be saved in GPR.
However for 32 bit machine we need to split the value into 2 GPRs (because each is 32 bit).

270c1993be [X86] Basic additions to support RegCall Calling Convention.
The Register Calling Convention (RegCall) was introduced by Intel to optimize parameter transfer on function call.
This calling convention ensures that as many values as possible are passed or returned in registers.
This commit presents the basic additions to LLVM CodeGen in order to support RegCall in X86.

4c5a2694f9 [X86][AVX512] Use the proper load/store for AVX512 registers.
When loading or storing AVX512 registers we were not using the AVX512
variant of the load and store for VR128 and VR256 like registers.
Thus, we ended up with the wrong encoding and actually were dropping the
high bits of the instruction. The result was that we load or store the
wrong register. The effect is visible only when we emit the object file
directly and disassemble it. Then, the output of the disassembler does
not match the assembly input.

This is related to llvm.org/PR27481.

1cf0e63b3f [X86] Fix the AllRegs AVX calling convention.
We used to list registers that were not in the AVX space. In other
words, we were pushing registers that the ISA cannot encode
(YMM16-YMM31).

fc08c62acd X86: Use a callee save register for the swiftself parameter.
It is very likely that the swiftself parameter is alive throughout most
functions function so putting it into a callee save register should
avoid spills for the callers with only a minimum amount of extra spills
in the callees.

Currently the generated code is correct but unnecessarily spills and
reloads arguments passed in callee save registers, I will address this
in upcoming patches.

This also adds a missing check that for tail calls the preserved value
of the caller must be the same as the callees parameter.

efc840cd69 CXX_FAST_TLS calling convention: fix issue on x86-64.
%RBP can't be handled explicitly. We generate the following code:
    pushq %rbp
    movq  %rsp, %rbp
    ...
    movq  %rbx, (%rbp)  ## 8-byte Spill
where %rbp will be overwritten by the spilled value.

The fix is to let PEI handle %RBP.

ba0a393451 [X86] Better support for the MCU psABI (LLVM part)
This adds support for the MCU psABI in a way different from r251223 and r251224,
basically reverting most of these two patches. The problem with the approach
taken in r251223/4 is that it only handled libcalls that originated from the backend.
However, the mid-end also inserts quite a few libcalls and assumes these use the
platform's default calling convention.

The previous patch tried to insert inregs when necessary both in the FE and,
somewhat hackily, in the CG. Instead, we now define a new default calling convention
for the MCU, which doesn't use inreg marking at all, similarly to what x86-64 does.

bd51d0c9b1 [X86] Part 2 to fix x86-64 fp128 calling convention.

Changes in this part:
* X86RegisterInfo.td, X86RecognizableInstr.cpp: Add FR128 register class.
* X86CallingConv.td: Pass f128 values in XMM registers or on stack.
* X86InstrCompiler.td, X86InstrInfo.td, X86InstrSSE.td:
  Add instruction selection patterns for f128.
* X86ISelLowering.cpp:
  When target has MMX registers, configure MVT::f128 in FR128RegClass,
  with TypeSoftenFloat action, and custom actions for some opcodes.
  Add missed cases of MVT::f128 in places that handle f32, f64, or vector types.
  Add TODO comment to support f128 type in inline assembly code.
* SelectionDAGBuilder.cpp:
  Fix infinite loop when f128 type can have
  VT == TLI.getTypeToTransformTo(Ctx, VT).
* Add unit tests for x86-64 fp128 type.

cb20c21c8a HHVM calling conventions.
HHVM calling convention, hhvmcc, is used by HHVM JIT for
functions in translated cache. We currently support LLVM back end to
generate code for X86-64 and may support other architectures in the
future.

In HHVM calling convention any GP register could be used to pass and
return values, with the exception of R12 which is reserved for
thread-local area and is callee-saved. Other than R12, we always
pass RBX and RBP as args, which are our virtual machine's stack pointer
and frame pointer respectively.

When we enter translation cache via hhvmcc function, we expect
the stack to be aligned at 16 bytes, i.e. skewed by 8 bytes as opposed
to standard ABI alignment. This affects stack object alignment and stack
adjustments for function calls.

One extra calling convention, hhvm_ccc, is used to call C++ helpers from
HHVM's translation cache. It is almost identical to standard C calling
convention with an exception of first argument which is passed in RBP
(before we use RDI, RSI, etc.)

c9165a5a41 [X86] ABI change for x86-32: pass 3 vector arguments in-register instead of 4, except on Darwin.
This changes the ABI used on 32-bit x86 for passing vector arguments. 
Historically, clang passes the first 4 vector arguments in-register, and additional vector arguments on the stack, regardless of platform. That is different from the behavior of gcc, icc, and msvc, all of which pass only the first 3 arguments in-register.
The 3-register convention is documented, unofficially, in Agner's calling convention guide, and, officially, in the recently released version 1.0 of the i386 psABI.

Darwin is kept as is because the OS X ABI Function Call Guide explicitly documents the current (4-register) behavior.

This fixes PR21510

b6e5772812 AVX-512: Added i1 type handling for calling conventions.
i1 type is a legal type on AVX-512 and can be passed as parameter or return value.
i1 is promoted to i8 on return and to i32 for call arguments (i8 is also promoted to i32 here).
The result code is similar to the previous X86 targets, where i1 is allways promoted to i8.

af3046bd9e X86: Implement the vectorcall calling convention
This is a Microsoft calling convention that supports both x86 and x86_64
subtargets. It passes vector and floating point arguments in XMM0-XMM5,
and passes them indirectly once they are consumed.

Homogenous vector aggregates of up to four elements can be passed in
sequential vector registers, but this part is not implemented in LLVM
and will be handled in Clang.

On 32-bit x86, it is similar to fastcall in that it uses ecx:edx as
integer register parameters and is callee cleanup. On x86_64, it
delegates to the normal win64 calling convention.

4a1cdb2ba7 Remove the target machine from CCState. Previously it was only used
to get the subtarget and that's accessible from the MachineFunction
now. This helps clear the way for smaller changes where we getting
a subtarget will require passing in a MachineFunction/Function as
well.

2cf112b51e [X86] Simplify X87 stackifier pass.
Stop using ST registers for function returns and inline-asm instructions and use
FP registers instead. This allows removing a large amount of code in the
stackifier pass that was needed to track register liveness and handle copies
between ST and FP registers and function calls returning floating point values.

It also fixes a bug which manifests when an ST register defined by an
inline-asm instruction was live across another inline-asm instruction, as shown
in the following sequence of machine instructions:

1. INLINEASM <es:frndint> $0:[regdef], %ST0<imp-def,tied5>
2. INLINEASM <es:fldcw $0>
3. %FP0<def> = COPY %ST0

86ad66783f Revert "[ms-cxxabi] Add a new calling convention that swaps 'this' and 'sret'"
This reverts commit r200561.

This calling convention was an attempt to match the MSVC C++ ABI for
methods that return structures by value.  This solution didn't scale,
because it would have required splitting every CC available on Windows
into two: one for methods and one for free functions.

Now that we can put sret on the second arg (r208453), and Clang does
that (r208458), revert this hack.

8ff8b30e4d [ms-cxxabi] Add a new calling convention that swaps 'this' and 'sret'
MSVC always places the 'this' parameter for a method first.  The
implicit 'sret' pointer for methods always comes second.  We already
implement this for __thiscall by putting sret parameters on the stack,
but __cdecl methods require putting both parameters on the stack in
opposite order.

Using a special calling convention allows frontends to keep the sret
parameter first, which avoids breaking lots of assumptions in LLVM and
Clang.

Fixes PR15768 with the corresponding change in Clang.

4f480d4b83 Add two new calling conventions for runtime calls
This patch adds two new target-independent calling conventions for runtime
calls - PreserveMost and PreserveAll.
The target-specific implementation for X86-64 is defined as following:
  - Arguments are passed as for the default C calling convention
  - The same applies for the return value(s)
  - PreserveMost preserves all GPRs - except R11
  - PreserveAll preserves all GPRs and all XMMs/YMMs - except R11

167cd3e1cb Fix mingw32 thiscall + sret.
Unlike msvc, when handling a thiscall + sret gcc will
* Put the sret in %ecx
* Put the this pointer is (%esp)

This fixes, for example, calling stringstream::str.

f27436b708 [Stackmap] Add AnyReg calling convention support for patchpoint intrinsic.
The idea of the AnyReg Calling Convention is to provide the call arguments in
registers, but not to force them to be placed in a paticular order into a
specified set of registers. Instead it is up tp the register allocator to assign
any register as it sees fit. The same applies to the return value (if
applicable).

2b2075f834 Target/X86: Add explicit Win64 and System V/x86-64 calling conventions.
Summary:
This patch adds explicit calling convention types for the Win64 and
System V/x86-64 ABIs. This allows code to override the default, and use
the Win64 convention on a target that wants to use SysV (and
vice-versa). This is needed to implement the `ms_abi` and `sysv_abi` GNU
attributes.
